The Copy Files task in SAS Enterprise Guide 8.2 might fail with the following error:

This error might occur when the SAS Enterprise Guide session has not started any connections to a SAS server.

For example, you encounter the issue when you perform steps similar to the following.

1. You execute SAS Enterprise Guide 8.2 and add a Copy Files task.
2. You try to upload a Microsoft Excel file from your local machine to either the Local or SASApp server. At this point, there is no connection to either server.
3. When you execute the task, the following error occurs:

The error occurs because the Copy Files task in SAS Enterprise Guide 8.2 does not automatically connect to the Local or SASApp servers.

As a workaround, you could connect to the Local or SASApp server before executing the task.
